• The stud arrives into the head and is blown into the cavity behind the jaws.
• A sensor detects its presence and signals a pneumatic cylinder to push the stud through the jaws.
• A signal is sent to the PLC telling it to rotate the boss through 90° by means of the other air cylinder
• The stud is ready for insertion.
• The press can now cycle, once complete, the process of loading the head begins again while the ram is on its way to TDC.
